Apochromatic colour correction and an aspherical lens surface are combined for the first time in this lens of this type. Of its five individual elements, two are made of high-refraction glass, while two others feature anomalous partial dispersion. Its brilliance and quality of resolution are exemplary even at full aperture. Light falloff is very low. Its fast aperture, for a 90mm lens, lets you shoot at relatively short exposure times even in dim light, helping to minimise the effects of camera shake, for instance when photographing street scenes from a distance.

This is a mid telephoto lens with the bright aperture of f/2.4 despite its compact size. It uses a glass molded aspheric lens at the 7th element to prevent field curvature, and places an ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lens at the 6th element to contain chromatic aberration. The lens is ideal for portraiture because of its beautiful blur and high-definition description. At the minimum working distance of 26.7cm, the lens delivers the maximum magnification of 0.5x for macro photography.

Using a glass-molded aspheric lens at the 5th element minimizes spherical aberration. Achieving beautiful bokeh in out-of-focus areas as well as excellent in-focus reproduction to create a natural sense of depth according to the aperture setting and the subject.The 35mm (135 equivalent: 53mm) lens has a standard focal length with the angle of view similar to that of the human eye. With the bright maximum aperture, the lens is ideal for snapshots.
